SINES building

School of Interdisciplinary Engineering & Sciences (SINES) is a leading research institute. It is one of its kind in the country. SINES is parented by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad.

The school offers interdisciplinary academic programs and research. It houses over 33 laboratories and more than 10 R&D industries, all integrated into a unique ecosystem.

Established in 2007, SINES is known for its supercomputing facilities. These provide a powerful resource for technical studies. The SINES supercomputer once ranked among the top 500 supercomputers in the world.

With a strong research environment, faculty and students at SINES adopt a multidisciplinary approach. Their research has led to major contributions in the socio-economic growth of Pakistan.

SINES focuses on two main streams: Interdisciplinary Sciences and Interdisciplinary Engineering. Education, training, and research are structured around these themes.

Students are actively encouraged to explore specialized topics. They work with faculty leading innovation and with industry practitioners who bring real-world experience to the classroom.

The SINES community is united by a shared goal — to create a better world through education, research, innovation, and social impact.

A university and thereby a country is defined by the research activities adapted by it which have the potential to bring changes to the nation. Considering the utmost importance of modern-day research, SINES was established in 2007 and has produced skilled graduates in interdisciplinary and diverse arenas.
