Makers Lab
“Where imagination meets innovation, makerspaces birth creativity’s masterpiece…”
SINES, makers space is a creative hub that cultivate diverse perspectives, preparing people for the interconnected world by honing skills like critical thinking, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication. Through makerspaces, SINES will serve as catalyst for a new generation of innovators, ready to navigate and contribute to the complexities of our globally interconnected society.
To date, a Winter Enrichment Training (WET) program has already been executed using this creative space, where learning perspectives on how multidisciplinary and cross disciplinary designs were brainstormed and created. It exposed the participants to the world of reimaging assessment for better learning outcomes and connected people to repair their past with future.
Makers labs or spaces are an international phenomenon to instil creativity among youth. They are often hailed as crucibles of innovation and have gained prominence within the academic realm, particularly, in interdisciplinary settings. Therefore, SINES, being the interdisciplinary hub of NUST, has established a Makers Lab at its premises. These dynamic environments will provide a fertile ground for exploration, experimentation, and collaboration, fostering creativity and problem-solving across a spectrum of academic disciplines.
The establishment of Makers Lab and through embracing the essence of “learning by doing” approach, SINES is going to be the nexus of technology and creativity, enabling students and professionals from diverse backgrounds to engage in hands-on, project-based learning. The Makers lab will encourage interdisciplinary collaboration hence fostering NUST mission and vision. Such space will attract experts from varying fields converge, exchanging ideas, methodologies, and perspectives hence cross pollination of scientists from multiple disciplines. Therefore, crafting tomorrow’s brilliance with the tools of creativity and the spirit of innovation.
