Quantum Computing Lab
Quantum Advantage for Information and Discovery Lab at SINES NUST undertakes pursuits where quantum information is employed for artificial intelligence and scientific discovery tasks, hence its acronym – QUAID. True to its acronym (which also means “The Leader”), its mission is to be at the forefront of quantum discovery and computing and to develop use-cases for quantum computing and information.

Projects:
- Framework and Resource Estimate for Quantum Cryptanalysis. This project of QUAID Lab is in collaboration with M/s National Systems, Islamabad and focuses on demonstration of quantum resource estimates needed to implement Grover’s algorithm for an exhaustive search of candidate keys used in symmetric encryption.
- Design of a scalable Superconducting Quantum Processor. For the first time in Pakistan, we are trying to design a Quantum Processor for quantum computing. Currently, a layout of a 4-qubit Quantum Processor has been accomplished and EM simulations to derive quantum Hamiltonian are in process.
- Quantum computing for CFD. Quantum computing algorithm are a boon for computational fluid dynamics. The aim of this project is to implement a quantum algorithm and quantum machine learning framework for CFD use-cases.
