Radar Research Lab
The Radar Research Lab focuses on advancing Radar and RF technology through a combination of cutting-edge research and practical applications. The lab specializes in radar and RF system design, module development, and PCB design. With extensive expertise in phased array radars, RF systems, power amplifiers, MMICs, and transmit-receive modules, the lab has completed notable projects, including the development of TR modules for phased array radars and RF frontends for airborne AESA radars.
Ongoing efforts include obstacle detection systems for Pakistan Railways and portable radar solutions for defense and security. The lab also supports undergraduate and graduate projects in areas such as digital array radar, vital signs monitoring and vehicle in-cabin monitoring using mm-wave radar. Equipped with FPGA boards, oscilloscopes, and other state-of-the-art tools, the lab bridges theoretical research and industrial-scale applications, contributing to the development of indigenous radar technologies.
The lab is headed by Dr. Hammad M. Cheema as PI and Dr. Abid Rafique and Dr. Umar Khan as Co-PIs. A spin-off company has been formed out of RRL. Please visit arraytech.ltd for details.
